Okay, so anyone that knows me knows that I am all about "All Natural" things. I buy as much organic food as possible, I use as many organic and natural products as I can. But lets face it. It's not cheap. Some things I tend to overlook because my budget just doesn't allow me to buy it all.
So anyway, I haven't used fabric softener in a long time because I had heard it was not good. I never researched it, but had noticed that when I don't use it, I don't see a difference, meaning I rarely have static.

Today while we were out doing some back to school shopping in Target, I pass by the detergent section. There on the shelf I see my favorite all time scent of fabric softener. And lo and behold, it's on clearance! Oh yay. I must get it. So I did.
Tonight I did one load of laundry with the yummy smelling stuff....and then think. Maybe I should look up what was so bad about it anyway since on the back of the bottle there are NO ingredients listed. It simply states "contains biodegradable fabric softening agents"....

So, I came across this article. EEEEEWWWW!!! I can not believe I was putting that on my clothes, and worse yet, on my kids!
Here is another article about the dangers.
I think I will rewash that load down there 2 or 3 times.
No more fabric softener for me.

Now I'm off to google essential oils. I'm on a mission to duplicate that lavender vanilla scent. :)

I have two more eBay auctions up tonight.
Two firsts tonight. My very first boy auction and my very first sibling sets.
Had I thought ahead about it, I would have made my first boy set super-de-duper awesomely awesome. It was not planned, but I did have the blue color way to this fun circus fabric and it was just laying there. So what was I to do? Not use it? Not make my little guy a matching set to his sisters? NO. I had to. I had no choice. So, there you have it.

Back To School

And the countdown begins...
I am asked daily "How many days til school, Mommy?"
(It's 18 today in case you are wondering too.)
We are so excited here. My little girly is going into Kindergarten this year and we are so ready for this next chapter. It's completely bitter sweet for me because she is still my baby... my every day little sidekick... my late night buddy... my little mommy.
But now, 5 days a week, she will be out of the house for 6 whole hours! :(
BUT... I know she will have a blast making friends and learning. She is beyond thrilled!

I used her hoodie pattern for this dress. I am really loving this dress pattern. My little girlie said it was "the most comfy ever". She did not want to give it up. ;)

The Party

We had little man's party on Sunday. It was definitely a day to remember. The first time in a pool for 3 babies in attendance including my little guy. (He would have stayed in there all day if he could.) Fun was had by every one there.

I didn't take many photos because it was just plain craziness with the 35+ people there. After chatting with friends at the party we agreed that we would love to be able to hire a party planner for kids birthday parties. I just feel like I didn't get to talk to everyone enough, or visit enough. And I definitely didn't take enough pictures. I basically only captured the pool and the cake. No present opening, not half of the guests, and I had aimed to photo all of the kids together, and also the grandparents there..... didn't happen. So I sure hope my memory holds up so I remember how much fun it all was!!! :)

Here are the little gifts I gave all the kids instead of goody bags. :)

My little guy is officially working on his second year! It's totally bitter sweet. He has grown, changed, and learned so much this past year but he is still just my little baby boy that has SOO much more to learn, grow and change.

He's a total Mommys boy right now and I'm eating up every second of it! I know it will be short lived.

Having a Boy....

Okay, so anyone that knows me knows that when I found out I was having a boy I was in shock. (to put it mildly)
I was unsure of the whole thing. See, I have 4 sisters and the only man in the house growing up was my dad, because, my uncles and male cousins are in Canada. So, I didn't know what was in store for me. I do have two nephews, but dealing with a little man on a daily basis was incomprehensible.
When he was born, all fell into place. This little guy just fit right into our little family as if he'd always been here...

Aaaand life has been sleepless since!. :)

So, should I be surprised that I can't even take a shower in peace, like, ever??
I have a baby walker in the bathroom for when I shower. He looks pretty silly in it now being that he's probably 23lbs and runs around the house.... So, the other day I thought maybe he's old enough to just play with toys in the floor.... maybe, just maybe, he'd be more content........HA, You'd think I would know better.
He started by throwing ALL of his little bath toys in the shower with me. Then decided that he wanted to really see what I was doing so pulling the shower curtain wide open was his idea.... THEN he decides he wants to fetch the toys he had thrown in the tub.... THIS is what I ended up with after the whole fiasco!
See, the one or two little spots of dry shirt on him? Yeah, he was SOAKED!!
(pay no attention to the finger smudged door behind him, it's part of my living room decor, no really! LOL)

Don't you just love that expression..... I believe he was in the middle of telling me about his bathtub adventures. :)

I feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful people via the Internet. These women that I talk to (sometimes more than family) I have never met. Yet I feel just as close to them as some of my friends here. I received some awesome gifts from my web friends when my little man was born. This set was one of those gifts. This woman does such amazing work. I just love her style. I was so excited when I opened her gift. We couldn't wait for it to get warm enough to wear it this year.

Little man just loves his outfit. The shorts are just so soft!! However, as soon as he knows I'm not able to reach him, the hat comes off. :) What a little rascal!
See that little tongue? Well, that's his (ha ha I know I'm doing something you don't want me to do) look.

Growing

My little man is growing up way too fast. I wish I could just freeze time for a bit. He's walking fast almost to the point of running and he is only 10 months. He's so smart and funny. He jabbers all day, no words yet but then he'll laugh at himself. He is his best audience! :)

The other day we went for a walk down the road and daddy put him down (read heart attack for mommy) on the asphalt. But this little man just went about his normal busy routine. Just until I had enough of holding my breath for fear he'd fall on the road. ugh... If these children of mine only knew how they are already giving me gray hair.

And it's only the beginning!!

Easter Fun

We had a weekend full of activities. Soooo much to share. :)

First, on Friday we went to one of my sisters house for some egg decorating. Notice the look of "I dont want to take photos right now" when I dare ask her to look up from her egg creation.

Little man was along for the ride too. Trying out the cool red chair there.

Then Saturday it was off to my father in law's house for an egg hunt and good food. She got to play with one of her favorite partners in crime.

Sunday we started out at home where we checked out what the Easter bunny brought. Yeah, terrible mom I am didn't get photos of it. Then it was off to church service. Here is my sweet girl and 3 of her cousins not really wanting to pose for a pic. There was way too much going on.

Then after church we headed to my mother in laws house for some more good food and multiple egg hunts indoors. We also had to take time out to register the new webkin that Mr. Bunny brought. And of course little man had to have his hand in what she was doing. :)

Then it was off to my parents house for yet another egg hunt and more food.... Feeling full yet? :)

Here are the kiddos that were in attendance and were able to participate. This was after the hunt and before they were allowed to rip into those yummy eggs.

It's amazing to see the relationship that has already formed between my two kids.
They are so fun to watch. They feed off each others silliness. And even though the baby is too small to do most playing and can't talk, they amazingly communicate well.

Big sis knows what and when he needs something. And she's an expert on what he eats. She could school a babysitter any day on his food, diapers, and bath time! And my little man is so tender hearted that he cries when his sister and their daddy wrestle around and she screams.... He thinks she's really hurt and he does NOT like it. She's the only one besides me that can make him smile when he's upset! It totally melts my heart!

I could not imagine my life without either one of them.
I am so BLESSED!

Birthday Girl

Yesterday we attended the birthday party of my youngest niece. Her birthday was beginning of March, but illnesses in the family delayed her shin dig a month. This sweetie turned one. How cute is she?!

And little man couldn't let her have all of the fun! He had a blast at the party too.

I'll be back (hopefully) soon with more pics. I'm still trying to work out the kinks in Photoshop on my Mac. I have lots of photos to share. :)

We spent the afternoon at my mother in laws house. My little girly got to spend time with one of her good little play buddies. They had a blast riding the power wheels 4-wheeler, running, and coloring with sidewalk chalk. Oh, they also play "Sonic" in the pantry. They are a cute little pair.
Notice her shoes on the wrong feet. She must have been in a major hurry to get playing. I didn't even notice until I saw the pictures on the computer. :)

They made a trip across the road to check out the cows in the field.

And check out this sweet picture of my niece. She is a candy lovin' sassy talkin' girly girl that sure can win you over with her little grin.

I'm trying to take advantage of all the new blooms this Spring. :) I just love this bush at my parents house.

SPRING

We had a gorgeous Spring day yesterday. It was so warm and sunny, and with the kids on Spring break we just had to make it a day at the park. I met my sister and her 3 children there for lunch and play. The kids had a blast. Here is my sweetie with two of her cousins after about an hour and a half of playing. (notice the crossed arms because she didn't want to touch the park bench, LOL)

And here's my little man enjoying the sunshine! He just loved watching the many kids run around. If there is action going on, he's generally a happy camper. :)

I have finally listed something new on eBay. It feels like it's been forever. Lots have been going on here, many technical difficulties to say the least, and I'm pretty sure I broke my baby toe last night!. By the way, if anyone out there has a Mac and has any advice for me on making the whole process of listing on ebay with html easier, please contact me! :) I am use to using Trellian to build my templates, etc. It's the easiest program for simple templates.

Now I'm lost in space as there is no program comparable for mac. Long story short, I need help/tips! I reeeeeally don't want to have to write the html myself every time.

My little man is already standing up on his own and dare I say he took one step toward me on his own today!! I really feel that I blinked and he has grown from newborn bundle to little boy! It's truely bitter sweet!

He has sort of a Sumo Wrestler stance dont ya think? :)

Little Girl Hair

What are your thoughts?

My little princess has been asking to have her hair cut short like her cousin and her friend have their hair. I'm struggling so hard with this because I somehow feel like cutting her hair short will strip her of her little girlness. (yes I like to make up words) I mean, she IS 5 now and not a baby, but I dont want to loose that little girl look. Am I crazy?

We have had the conversation about how she wont get to have nice long braids which she LOVES... and she wont get to have Tinkerbell/Ballet hair anymore. (see pic)

But she still says she wants "this much" cut off.... holding her hands as far apart as she can...

Those of you who have had little girls with long hair that have taken the huge step to have tons cut off, I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

This is one of the last groups of photos I took before my camera BROKE..... yep, that's right. Broken!! It will take a picture, but a terrible one. :( I feel like my left arm is broken (I'm a lefty).
